School Nurse or Healthcare Practitioner

Term Time only + PD Days

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 pro rata

(NHS Band 5 equivalent)

Depending on experience and qualifications

 

This 11-18 City Technology College with an enrolment of 1500 students is seeking to appoint a School Nurse or an experienced Health Care Practitioner to join our Safeguarding and Wellbeing team at one of the top performing Schools in the country.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the Medical Room and being the first point of contact
  • Administering First Aid where appropriate
  • Liaising with parents and carers on a daily basis in relation to student illness
  • Liaising with appropriate colleagues regarding students with long term illnesses
  • Preparing regular reports and data in relation to the medical provision
  • Attending meetings in relation to individual students
  • Ensuring the Medical Room is fully stocked at all times
  • Ensuring compliance with laws surrounding the secure storage and record keeping of medical equipment and medicines
  • Taking decisions and providing advice regarding referrals to other health care providers

The successful candidate should have experience in the first line management of minor illness and injury, including additional training in chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, anaphylaxis and in the use of a defibrillator.
