Work related Experience and Associated Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning strategies that improve progress in English at KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Experience of setting high expectations to engage and motivate students
  • Ability to encourage and maintain a high standard of discipline in the classroom through quality teaching, developing positive relationships and effective classroom management
  • Ability to use a range of appropriate teaching and learning strategies, supported by research, to ensure students across the ability range make progress in line with expectations
  • Ability to set clear and appropriate targets, feed back to students, parents and carers and make use of assessment information to promote student attainment and progress, and to plan future learning
  • Ability to reflect on own practice and a desire to improve as a practitioner
